Key West Dog Beach

August 6, 2011

A canine favorite though rocky and slippery. No restrooms or facilities.
Located next to Louie’s Backyard (Vernon and Waddell)

Key West is a very pet friendly place. Dog Beach in Key West, Florida has been dog lover’s favorite spot. There is a great beach area next to Louie’s Backyard rest. If you are a dog lover, or just love to watch them romp and play, don’t miss this beach! It is very laid back.

Dogs are allowed to run up the beach but beware there are very slippery rocks to the left and a dog can really hurt themselves on this. Dogs will have some fun in the sun here, just be sure to keep a close eye on your pup. Also this is not a fenced in area so your dog should be on good voice command.

After getting a little exercise on the beach, head over to Louie’s Backyard, which is located next door to the Dog Beach and is a pet-friendly place to grab a refreshing beverage. Dogs are allowed up on the back deck to Louie’s for water and it is also a great place to watch the dog’s play during the day. Make sure your dog doesn’t run up to the hotels near by, they have to stay on the beach.
